Great Curb Appeal

Nothing is more appealing and inviting than a well maintained concrete driveway and sidewalk. It always enhances the beauty and value of your home or business. Concrete driveways are safe and durable, with very low maintenance. Your driveways and sidewalks are always finished with a slip resistant textured surface for your safety.

Your concrete driveway’s life span is determined by the quality of the materials, care in preparation and workmanship that is put into it. At Yeryk Concrete Finishing  we take great pride in our extensive preparation process and the attention to detail.

I personally put my boots on for every job, and I work alongside a group of very talented people who share my passion for quality workmanship.

Concerned about the environment? Concrete is one of the “greenest” materials you can use to construct your driveway, sidewalk or patio. And we like that!

For durability, longevity, and low maintenance, nothing beats professionally installed and finished concrete.

Site Preparation Is Everything

It all starts with a good foundation. All debris, grass, roots, and other materials will be excavated and removed to insure a solid base for your new concrete. We will obtain all the necessary construction permits as necessary.

  • A limestone base is installed to a depth of 6 to 8 inches.
  • 95% compaction, with a 1,000 lb diesel plate compactor.
  • 10mm rebar placed in both directions with 16 inch spacing, centered in the concrete slab.
  • We use only commercial grade 5,000 PSI (pounds per square inch) (35 MPa megapascal) 5 to 7% air‑entrained concrete.

Driveways

When it comes to fixing an existing or old and heaved driveway, there are very few options available. The only good solution is to just bite the bullet and rip it out.

Ripout and replacement is not as painful as it may seem. We will make sure there is very little disruption in your life as we watch the weather and ensure we have a window to get the job done in a timely manner. Two to three days from start to finish is our goal. When we start on a job like this, we focus on getting it done.

Ripout and replacement is also a great way to create or add curb appeal to your home, especially if you are trying to sell it. This is the first thing people will notice when they drive up, and it’s an easy way to enhance the look and value of your property.

Concrete driveways are always a great choice in Manitoba. They hold up extremely well during our very cold and unpredictable winters.

To allow for proper curing, we recommend that you wait a minimum of 7 to 10 days before driving any vehicles on your new driveway.

Residential driveways are not meant to hold heavy vehicles and/or large equipment.

Sidewalk Construction

Again, ripout and replacement is not as painful as it seems. We pour our concrete sidewalks to a minimum thickness of 4 inches. Fiber expansion joints are placed at abutments or any other necessary areas. Expansion joints will have a 3 1/2 inch depth. Contraction joints will be placed every 4 feet to a 1 inch depth. Steel rebar will run the entire length of the sidewalk.

Saw cutting for concrete sidewalks is every 6 feet.

Patios and Outdoor Living Spaces

There are only a few choices when it comes to patios, decks, and other outdoor living spaces. You could go with wood, natural stone, or even interlocking brick, but the biggest advantage to concrete is its flexibility.

In terms of cost, concrete is easily the most affordable compared to stone or interlocking brick and it doesn’t have the maintenance issues that they do. Concrete is also proven to be more durable and longer lasting than any other building material.
